Raw chocolate brownies

Raw brownies are a must-have in any serious hipster’s culinary arsenal. They’re (accessible) superfood central. Because as a kitchen sloth you have no patience for fancy powders and shizz. Real food is where it’s at.

No idea why this post is slightly gangster. But when you feel it, you feel it. You know?

What you’ll need:

Food processor

2 cups raw walnuts and almonds (or your choice of nuts)

1 cup raw cacao

2 1/2 cups medjool dates

Pinch of salt

1-2 tablespoons coconut oil (i use extra virgin, unrefined)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon paprika (trust moi, the teensy hint of spice is great)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup raw almonds (roughly chopped)

Optional:
1/4 cup cacao nibs

Blend walnuts and almonds in food processor until fine and crumbly. Add cacao. Add dates, cinnamon, paprika, vanilla. Add coconut oil, possibly adding more until it reaches desired consistency – the mixture should be slightly crumbly but still moist enough that it sticks together when you press it.

Place mixture in a tray lined with baking paper. Refrigerate. Feel free to go crazy creative and top with more nuts, chocolate ganache (cacao, coconut oil, honey/maple syrup/dates, almond butter), or nut butter. You know you want to.
